If fishing were easy it would be called "Catching"

Woke up this morning to the sound of wind howling and rain thumping on the top of the roof. These were the effects of a small cyclone the came to Tonga last night. Because of this unfortunate event preparation for school was canceled today. Around two o'clock in the after noon the sky was blue and we were going fishing. We found the coast line and walked along the shore until we had no clue where we were. Then I stepped on a piece of glass that managed to find it way through my new Keen sandals and about a half an inch into my heel. As I hopped over to sit on dry land blood dripped off my toes and onto the rocks. Ryan pulled out a first aid kit and had my foot rapped in no time, free of charge. We rested until the blood stopped dripping and then continued the find a fishing spot. Soon we came saw a spot that looked good enough to try our luck. I rigged up my line with a white popper and flung it out into the ocean. After getting lots hits with no hook ups I finally caught my first fish in Tonga. It was small but had enough power to pull a few feet of line off the spool. Soon after we decided to head back to our house. It took us an hour and a half of me limping through the jungle to get back to the streets and the another fifteen minute walk back to our humble home. With a douse of garlic powder and Lowery's salt we put two fresh fillets into our rice cooker to be steamed. As soon as my foot heals I will be ready for another day of fishing. But for the next few days my rod will sit in the conner and taunt me.

Arrived and Tonga two day ago and have moved into our house. Moving in was pretty easy since all we have is a toilet, shower and two beds. The principle of the school is looking into possibly getting a stove and maybe a refrigerator. So far Ryan and I have just been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a side of fruit. I wouldn't choose to be anywhere where else.
Yesterday we walked east until we got to the ocean and went snorkeling. The water is incredibly clear and there is corral everywhere. The fish are everywhere and there is a starfish every ten feet. I am almost positive we could walk anywhere and find good snorkeling.

Excuse me......what time is it?

A friend once told me about Stephen Hawking's time travel theory. Hawking says that if someone builds a jet plane large enough to move at full speed for six years, one day on that jet is equivalent to one year on earth. That person will have just traveled through time. Tomorrow I will be getting in a jet and flying around the world, when I land I will be 20 hours ahead of when I started. They say time begins in Tonga because it lays almost exactly on the international date line. The begging of each new day starts in Tonga. For once I may be able to keep up with that latest fashion trends. After all I will be one of the first to see tomorrow. But the crazy part is that I will be landing in a country that is trying to catch up with the rest of the world. So tomorrow I will be flying into the future to find that past. And I could be happier to be more confused. I have no idea what the future holds, but I sure am excited to find out what it looks like.
